In the life of the Degenfeld family Tokaj always played an essential role not only for the picturesque landscape but for the delicate wines as well.
The wine growing and wine making traditions in the family go as far back as nearly one and a half centuries owing to the work of Count Imre Degenfeld, and this passion has been preserved through generations.
Gróf Degenfeld Castle Hotel has a special charm in which the history and modernity are coupled. For expanding the tourism services offered by the Tokaj wine growing region the family has converted the former wine-dresser school located on the vineyard into a four star Castle Hotel, as a result of which the hotel was opened and the guests have been expected since the end of May in 2003.

The whole hotel is air conditioned in which 20 double rooms and one suite expect the guests. Period style reflects the era of the Monarchy and the tranquillity of nature will steal the visitors’ hearts and souls.
Besides the wonderful environment the qualified staff ensures high standard, but still family like hospitality.

The Gróf Degenfeld family has several plans in order to extend its tourism services and to increase the attractivness of the area. For instance, they plan to restore the Theresia Chapel which is located behind the winery on top of a hill, to provide an excellent place for weddings and christening events in a personal atmosphere.
Gastronomy : The elegant restaurant for 60 persons, the pleasant summer terrace with an overlook to the park, as well as the wine bar in the cellar with unique atmosphere for 40 persons are expecting those who prefer excellent food and high standard wines. The separate room gives place to business and family events, as well as receptions at a high standard. Guest visiting the Castle Hotel restaurant may choose from real speciality cuisine. The restaurant is at the guests’ disposal with gourmet dishes, the best of Tokaji’s wines, individual assortment of spirits and polite service. The chef of the Castle Hotel favours the guests not only with international meals but also with local speciality foods.
